Toilet Trek
Title
Toilet Trek
Description
This is a video that explores the development of public toilets in Hong Kong and rural India. A time-traveling sci-fi story is first presented to introduce the public to some of the reasons why we need attention and enhancement to public toilet facilities. Open defecation in rural India and the underground latrines are used to paint the picture, and cultural-specific issues are discussed. After the story, the aesthetics and design angles of humanistic toilets are as well explored. Finally, the video ended by giving the audience a food for thought about public toilet design.
