Individuals undergoing IVF treatment experience considerable levels of psychosocial distress, the most common experiences experiences include stress, anxiety, low mood, helplessness and feeling lost, among other.
With the support from HKU Knowledge Exchange, Department of Social Work and Social Administration, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Department of Engineering, HKU, jointly developed the mobile application “IVF Care”. “IVF Care” was specially designed for individuals undergoing IVF treatment, its purpose being to assist couples in treatment management and to support couples by providing treatment-specific psychoeducation.
Features of “IVF Care” include:
- IVF treatment log
- Personal health journal
- Psychological health assessment
- Psychosocial support resources
- Self-help tips on stress relief and management
- Information on assisted reproduction and pregnancy
- Other community resources
