Affectionately dubbed the "opera fans' lover", Yam Kim Fai commanded the stage for more than four decades, charming generations of opera fans with her rich repertoire of performances. Many of Tong and Yam's operas have been adapted for the screen, a fact that has proved instrumental in promoting and preserving the operatic art.
