ABOUT THIS MODULE
Solid knowledge of academic grammar is the cornerstone of good university-level academic writing. This course aims at helping you develop command of language features which are commonly found in university-level academic writing, including:
- Nominalization
- Using Active and Passive Voice
- Pronoun Referencing
- Tense Choice
- Hedging, Boosting and Balancing Your Argument
- Using Linking Words
- Subject-Verb Agreement
You will find this course helpful if you wish to:
- make your writing more formal and precise
- make your writing more coherent
- use tenses effectively to express your stance
- use the right tone to express your arguments

- Log in the system with your HKU PORTAL account
