Description

Sai Ying Pun Community Complex is located at 2 High Street. It is a 9-storey building built on the site of the Old Mental Hospital, which only the granite facade and arched verandah were preserved. It was used as a quarters for the European nursing staff of the Civil Hospital until the World War II.

Format

The Sai Ying Pun Community Complex was built in granite while the windows with green wooden shutters set in the inner red brick gave it a Mediterranean feel. Topping all this was a tiled traditional Chinese roof.
