About Us
We are a student organization from The University of Hong Kong. This digital gallery aims at promoting and preserving Hong Kong cultural heritages by enhancing the general public's understanding towards them.
'Historic Buildings in Hong Kong Island' is used as the topic of our digital gallery, we have included 24 items and have presented information of our chosen buildings. Furthermore, our collection includes various grading of different historic buildings, including declared monuments, grade I to grade III historic buildings, as well as other tangible cultural heritages which have strong historic values but are not listed by the Antiques and Monuments Office. The exhibit "Different Types of Historic Buildings" have also categorized the historic buildings into different architectural and function types, for example, the British and Chinese style buildings, Religious buildings and Educational buildings. In addition, we have also included some posters about events that are held in such buildings and related videos of the historic buildings.
All in all, we hope to promote these aforementioned cultural heritages and historical buildings to the general public, and to provoke their interests towards cultural heritages.
