"Aloe Vera originates from the Arabian Peninsula but the plat grows wild in tropical climates around the world. It is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. In traditional Chinese Medicine, the inner gel of the Aloe Vera plant helps to nourish, moisten and balance all the tissues and is suitable for all body types. It is considered an excellent yin tonic, because of the health benefits of Aloe Vera gel and it is used as a purgative. In Chinese Medicine Aloe Vera is also use in pill or powdered form, but not in decoctions. Good quality gel is very dark green and lustrous with a strong taste. In chinese culture, aloe vera has been an important ingredient in medical treatments since the times of
Marco Polo expeditions. The treatment book of Shi Shen described Aloe Vera as the “Method of Harmony” –
