The course emphasizes the importance of future medical professionals’ skills in:
- Identifying professional knowledge gaps
- Adapting a patient oriented focus in clinical decision making.
Students are introduced to the basic concepts of epidemiology and medical statistics and taught how to interpret and critically appraise published research articles and further how to apply up-to-date medical knowledge to real patients in daily medical practice.
In addition the students will be introduced to the epidemiology of common diseases relevant to the respective system blocks.
