The fifth-generation trams referred to those Double-decker trams composed of aluminium panels and teak frame. A total of 163 tramcars were established where 43 trams were new and 1 was rebuilt in 1979 from non-powered trailer No. 1; others rebuilt from existing fleet trams at that period.
