Fifth-generation Tram

Fourth-generation Tram
The fourth-generation trams were fully enclosed tramcars with prewar design. A total of 119 tramcars were established where 57 trams were new and 62 were rebuilt from 14 single-deck trams and 48 canvas-roof and wood-roof trams.

Third-generation Tram
The third generation trams were enclosed double-decker trams that replaced open-balcony trams.

Second-generation Tram
It was introduced in 1912 due to augmented passenger demand. It had an open-balcony design, fitted with garden-type seats. The first class occupied the upper deck and one-third of the lower deck. Ten new tramcars constructed.

First-generation Tram
It had a single-deck design and was established in 1904. First fleet of 26 UK-built tramcars shipped in pieces to Hung Hom to be assembled. 10 tramcars were designed for first class passengers and the others were for third class passengers.…
