It is a former site of Whitfield Barracks. It is worthy to preserve this site and promote it to the next generation as it has lots of values, including historical value, educational value, and architectural value, to name a few. Between the past and present, the site had a big difference. For example, the front elevation of the exhibition hall was converted into a glass curtain wall to create a spacious and welcoming atmosphere inside the foyer. Apart from that, the restoration project of the Cultural Heritage Discovery Centre had received a positive response from the public and professional bodies. In 2005, it won the “Special Architectural Award– Heritage” awarded by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards. Also, it won the Jury Commendation for Innovation in the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation in 2007. In addition, preservation and digitization related to the site are addressed."]]]],["element",{"elementId":"39"},["name","Creator"],["description","An entity primarily responsible for making the resource"],["elementTextContainer",["elementText",{"elementTextId":"752"},["text","Fong Yau Chun, John"]]]],["element",{"elementId":"47"},["name","Rights"],["description","Information about rights held in and over the resource"],["elementTextContainer",["elementText",{"elementTextId":"754"},["text","This item is made available for research and educational purposes by the University of Hong Kong."]]]],["element",{"elementId":"46"},["name","Relation"],["description","A related resource"],["elementTextContainer",["elementText",{"elementTextId":"755"},["text","Digitizing the Hong Kong Museum of Railway"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"756"},["text","Rediscover The Fading Colours"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"757"},["text","Hong Kong's Court of Final Appeal Building"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"758"},["text","Noon Day Gun"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"759"},["text","Spiritual Drink of Hongkongers-- Hong Kong intangible cultural heritage: Hong Kong Style Milk Tea"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"760"},["text","Yau Ma Tei Threatre"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"761"},["text","Cantonese Opera"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"762"},["text","The Cultural Heritage of Chai ( Indian Milk Tea )"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"763"},["text","A Wisdom in Mind -Bamboo Theatre Building Technique"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"764"},["text","Why Bing Sutt?"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"765"},["text","Taj Mahal - A Cultural Heritage"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"766"},["text","Hung Shing Temple"]],["elementText",{"elementTextId":"767"},["text","Exploring Hong Kong: Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance"]]]],["element",{"elementId":"42"},["name","Format"],["description","The file format, physical medium, or dimensions of the resource"],["elementTextContainer",["elementText",{"elementTextId":"768"},["text",".mp4"]]]],["element",{"elementId":"44"},["name","Language"],["description","A language of the resource"],["elementTextContainer",["elementText",{"elementTextId":"769"},["text","English"]]]],["element",{"elementId":"43"},["name","Identifier"],["description","An unambiguous reference to the resource within a given context"],["elementTextContainer",["elementText",{"elementTextId":"770"},["text","CCCH-9051-2018-03"]]]],["element",{"elementId":"51"},["name","Type"],["description","The nature or genre of the resource"],["elementTextContainer",["elementText",{"elementTextId":"1061"},["text","Video"]]]],["element",{"elementId":"56"},["name","Date Created"],["description","Date of creation of the resource."],["elementTextContainer",["elementText",{"elementTextId":"1786"},["text","2018/3/17"]]]]]]],["tagContainer",["tag",{"tagId":"14"},["name","China"]],["tag",{"tagId":"20"},["name","Cultural Heritage"]],["tag",{"tagId":"16"},["name","Culture"]],["tag",{"tagId":"23"},["name","HK"]]]],["item",{"itemId":"94","public":"1","featured":"0"},["fileContainer",["file",{"fileId":"82"},["src","https://learning.hku.hk/dmi/files/original/8018ca7c55eec2bf5e4cc30773b2d8be.mp4"],["authentication","d75f15bf58c5bf34f865cf233c2cd1dd"]]],["collection",{"collectionId":"16"},["elementSetContainer",["elementSet",{"elementSetId":"1"},["name","Dublin Core"],["description","The Dublin Core metadata element set is common to all Omeka records, including items, files, and collections.
