Introduction to Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest situation arises when the personal interest of an employee competes or conflicts with the interest of the University.
Such a situation can lead to divided loyalty and can tarnish the University’s reputation and/or even result in corruption.
This course is designed to equip colleagues with a comprehensive understanding of the policy on Conflict of Interest and suggested practices for avoiding and managing conflict of interest under the University context.
This course would take about 30 minutes to complete.
Upon successful completion of this module, colleagues should be able to:
- Identify what constitutes a conflict of interest.
- Understand the potential consequences of conflict of interest.
- Develop awareness and competence in avoiding and managing situations that may lead to or involve conflict of interest.
