About This Course
This online training module on Proper Financial Practices for Student Societies is developed by CEDARS LEAF Student Leadership Development Programme. This online module aims to provide student organisers with knowledge and skills to extend your knowledge on adopting basic health and safety concepts and practical tips on avoiding accidents during orientation activities from the perspective of student organisers.
The module will be divided into two parts
Topics
Part 1 of the course will address key topics including, finanicial management, budget, operation, governance, reporting and funding applications.
Topics
Part 2 are case studies in financial crimes prevention including falsifying financial records, and embezzlement.
Requirements
It takes about an hour to complete the course. After the completion of the course, you will receive a digital certificate. You can learn at your own pace - take it all at once, or complete it in phases! Enjoy!

Prof. Winnie Leung is the Associate Professor of Teaching at HKU Business School. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Hong Kong with practical experience in banking and accounting. Her expertise is in financial reporting. Apart from undergraduate and postgraduate accounting courses, she also teaches financial reporting to non-financial managers in Executive Education. Professor Leung’s enthusiasm and devotion in teaching has earned her high recognition for teaching excellence. She was given the Faculty Outstanding Teacher Award in 2012, 2018 (for Undergraduate Teaching) and in 2022 (for Postgraduate Teaching).
