Title A name given to the resource UNIVERSITY HALL Description An account of the resource The building was built in the early development of pokfulam road as at the time of the construction Hong Kong Government has just laid out a plan to build a reservoir to solve Hong Kong's lack of clean water. Prior to World War I, the building was sold to the French Mission and was used as a monastery and a center of bible printing. During the second World War, the Japanese occupied this building and used it as one of its soldier's base and headquarter. Post the second World War, The French Mission regain ownership and restbalished its earlier use under them. It was not until 1954 that the building was sold to HKU by the French Mission and has been used as a student dormitory ever since. Title A name given to the resource CITY BOUNDARY (Victoria) Description An account of the resource The Hong Kong government erected several boundary stones in 1903 to mark the limits of the City of Victoria. Measuring 98 cm in height, tapered at the top and with the inscription ‘City Boundary 1903’, this one on Hatton Road is similar to its fellows but still in its original location. As the city’s boundaries were clearly defined by ordinance, these stones were more just physical markers, but are now historical relics.
