Description
This Hong Kong Cantonese opera classic was written by the late renowned playwright Mr. Tong Dick-sang. Li Yik, a talented scholar of the Tang Dynasty, encounters the beautiful Fok Siu-yuk during the lantern festival one night. The two are a real match made in heaven. Their love affair begins when Siu-yuk drops her purple hairpin, which is subsequently picked up and returned by Yik, who later proposes to Siu-yuk using the hairpin as a pledge of his devotion.
