Subject
Description
"Burning incense is done by worshippers as an offering with the belief that it attracts attention from the Gods or, in some cases, is food for the spirits that have passed prior. They can either be long and straight or in the form of coils. The long-burning incense spirals take up to a couple of weeks to burn through and they purify the surroundings, which keeps the ancestors and gods happy."

"Plant the unlit end into an incense bowl filled with ash or rice.
To make an offering, bow with palms together. Leaving the left hand in palms-together position, take a pinch of loose incense with the fingers of your right hand. Touch the pinch of incense to your forehead, then drop the pellets onto of the burning charcoal. There will be a poof of fragrant smoke. Bow again before moving on."
