Description
Zhao Mengfu (趙孟頫) was one of the imperial descendants of the Song Dynasty (宋朝). He served as a part of the Mongols, being a court official. His artistic talent is admired by Mongol emperors, including Kublai Khan, until he was offered a position in Hanlin Academy. Zhao is popularly remembered as a horse painter during Tang dynasty (618–907), and also animal groups, landscapes, and bamboos.
