Description

Barrack Block is one of the most historical buildings in Tai Kwun. It is constructed in1862 - 1864 located beside the Parade Ground. The building was expanded to four-storey structure after 1905. In 1920s, The Hong Kong Island Emergency Unit used as offices. It had now became the main background of Parade Ground. Besides, shops and restaurants are opened in Barrack Block. It is also known as visitor centre and Heritage Storytelling Space.
