Description

The Central Magistracy is one of the most historically significant buildings on site. Originally established in the 1840s, it underwent two reconstructions. The current structure was built in 1914. The colonial architecture was a symbol of the importance and power of the court. The building is notable for its connection to the police and prison functions that provided an "all-in-one" service. The Court Room No.1 will now be used as a Heritage Storytelling Space, while the main building will be used for integrated cultural and lifestyle programmes.
