A conflict of interest situation arises when the personal interest of an employee competes or conflicts with the interest of the University.

Such a situation can lead to divided loyalty and can tarnish the University’s reputation and/or even result in corruption.

On successful completion of this module, you would be able to:

• Identify what constitutes conflict of interest;
• Understand the potential consequences of conflict of interests; and
• Be aware of how to avoid and manage conflict of interest situations.
